I just downloaded this game a week ago, and given that I do have some spare time I've been playing MWO consistently enough to have a decent first impression of what this game is like.
Unfortunately, it doesnt live up to my expectations when I think of all the times I've play MW games. One of my main gripes is how extensively underpowered the Inner Sphere mechs are compared to clanner mechs. In most cases, even in one on one, I barely seem to cause any damage at all despite keeping a bead on my target and making every single shot count.
Another issue I have is the sheer about of purchasable content vs content earned in game. Take paint jobs, for instance. 500 credits just for ONE color? And another problem: 55$ for a computer graphic (mech)? See, this is how it comes across:
You sell over-powered mechs to people, and force them to pay for every little thing in your game, not to mention an "optional" monthly fee for more xp? In my opinion, its comes across like this game is tailor made for people with entirely too much time and/or money on their hands and to be honest its one of the main reasons I came here to post.
Its not fun at all once you discover the only way you will ever be able to stand a chance i to shell out enough money to buy the damn game itself just for 1 new mech, and you've ruined what you already designed by releasing said OP mechs.
Im really glad that this game is around, but I wont be shelling out money on top of a "premium" fee and to access just one mech for the cost of a brand new game.
Thanks for your time, and if you dont care to read it then dont bother replying because I wont waste my verbal ammunition on this forum.
